BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF STARKE COUNTY
PARTIAL PARK CLOSURES DURING
THE COVID-19 LOCAL DISASTER EMERGENCY
EXECUTIVE ORDER 2020- 014
THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF STARKE COUNTY, INDIANA (the “Commissioners”) issues this EXECUTIVE ORDER in conjunction with their declaration of a Local Disaster Emergency in Resolution 2020-012.
It is the policy of Starke County to apply and adhere to the rules and precautions as ordered by the State of Indiana intended to help curb the spread of COVID-19. The Commissioners have noted that parks, forests and similar properties operated by the Indiana Department of Natural Resources (“IDNR”) have implemented partial closures to protect our citizens and help control the spread of COVID-19.
The Commissioners hereby ORDER:
- All property offices and buildings are CLOSED.
- The Bass Lake Beach and Campground is CLOSED for the duration of the Local Disaster Emergency. However, persons residing in a camper or cabin with no other residence may remain and shelter-in-place.
- The Starke County Forest and other public outdoor spaces will remain OPEN to
hiking, exercise, and outdoor recreation to of five (5) or fewer. Users must observe social distancing rules.
