Starke County Government has received a $150,000 grant from OCRA for implementing a Starke County Food Distribution Program. All Starke County Residents will be eligible for the program. The program will end when the grant amount received has been exhausted. Applicants who are approved for the program will be required to complete the form in the link below and will need to pick up a food voucher from the Starke County Auditor’s Office every two weeks. Applicants will need to provide proof of residency when receiving their voucher. Food vouchers can be used at either Five Star Foods, Knox, IN or Grand Central Grocery, North Judson, IN. The individual must present an ID when redeeming the voucher.
Residents who do not have access to internet may go to Starke County Library, North Judson-Wayne Township Library, San Pierre Library, Walkerton Library, and Hamlet Library to get help with completing the online form. For more information about the program residents can call the Starke County Auditor’s Office at 574-772-9101. You will only need to complete this application ONE TIME. Multiple requests requested will be discarded.
